Installing 123 Flashchat

Hi, to install this script I need to do this:

 

Please ssh or telnet your server, and enter following commands:

 

$ wget http://www.123flashchat.com/download/123flashchat.tar.gz

$ tar zxf 123flashchat.tar.gz

$ cd 123flashchat/server

$ ./fcserver.sh start

 

can any body explain me how to do it?

Can't, we do not have access to SSH. Were there other options for installing the software?

I don't believe you can install or run 123 Flash Chat on TCH servers. From the 123 Flash Chat FAQ:

19. Can 123 flash chat run on shared hosting?

 

Most shared plans don't allow standalone server application running, we suggest vds( virtual dedicated server) /vps(virtual private server) host plan which is cheaper than the dedicated server to run 123 flash chat.

 

Only ftp account is not enough to install 123flashchat on your server,you have to have telnet or ssh authority to install it.

TCH does not offer telnet or SSH access to accounts, as Serpentine noted. Even if you could install it, TCH does not allow users on shared hosting accounts to run persistent programs ("standalone server applications") on their accounts, which would preclude you from running 123 Flash Chat at all.

There are many reason you can not run that application.

 

No shell access

Not allowed to run a service/daemon

We do not support server side Java

Would not be allowed to open the needed ports

That software comes with its own web server software
