abinidi
I'm looking for an FTP program that works like Dreamweaver's site manager. I want a program that will compare the files on my machine with the ones on the server and update whichever are newer. I had hoped that the site manager in Nvu would do it, but it seems to only be an FTP interface. I guess if Dreamweaver has what I want I might have to get it, but I'd rather use an open source (read: free) solution, if available. If you have any suggestions, let me know. TCH-Bruce
CuteFTP can compare two folders but you have to manually select which files to update.

abinidi
Wspulbisher seems like it is a useful tool, but it doesn't do exactly what I wanted. I guess if I want Dreamweaver, I'm going to have to use Dreamweaver!! Specifically what I like about Dreamweaver MX's site manager is the following: - Ability to compare local files to server files so see which are newer, then having the choice to download which ones you want. - Ability to mask certain folders so they are ignored by the FTP program (which is nice if I don't want to be synchronizing my Coppermine gallery every time I do an upload). I did find the following site: http://fullsync.sourceforge.net/ They produce a tool that lets you synchronize files on an FTP server. I think it is pretty cool. It lets you choose if you want to upload just the files on your local machine, or if you want to synchronize the files with the server (keeping only the newest version of the file), and it compares the files, then pulls up a list. Then before any changes are made, you have the opportunity to choose to ignore a file (or you can select multiple files and ignore multiple files at once). I think this tool will probably be what I use until I can afford to buy the newest version of Dreamweaver. Gee wiz those college days of academic prices on software were nice!!
