White Bear Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 I'm new here, trying to move a vBulletin forum site over from another web host, but having some problems. I've set up a mySQL database using the CPanel tool MySQL Databases, did a "Check" and no errors. But, the vBulletin program can't seem to connect. I've checked the username, password and dbname many times. Re-uploaded vBulletin a couple of times. Is there some thing else I need to do to make the database available. I don't find phpMyAdmin as a standard tool here, do I need to install it ?? My last web host PowWeb did not use CPanel, so it's new to me. Do I need to make the database "active" or something ?? BTW, "friends don't let friends" use PowWeb, one problem after another, customer service is a joke over there, servers failing or overloaded, databases corrupted. Thanks, for any ideas on what to do next. Dick "White Bear" Quote
stevevan Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Not sure what your cpanel looks like, but check in the "MySQL" or "Databases" area. There should be a link there to phpMyAdmin towards the bottom of the page. If it's not there, drop a note to the Help Desk (link above) and they'll square you right away. Oh...and welcome to the forums! Don't forget to stop by the Introductions section and introduce yourself to your new "family". Quote
White Bear Posted April 16, 2005 Author Posted April 16, 2005 Steve, Thanks, I found the problem. I didn't use the Add User to dB function correctly. It's easy enough, just not used to this control panel. This is a great web host, after being at some really bad ones. Dick "White Bear" Quote
