Fuse Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Is there a way of soft linking two folders (under my domain) together? I have several folders of identical files with different URLs. I want to keep the separate URLs, but if I could link several child folders to a parent, then updating the files would be much simpler as I would only have to upload the files once (instead of several times). I know how to create soft links via telnet, but since we don't have telnet access (correct?), I was wondering if there any other way? I was thinking maybe Unix stored file attributes in an editable text file...that I could edit John Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Welcome to the forums John. You may be able to get the techs to do this for you. Open a help desk ticket (link above) to support and explain what you want to do. Quote

Fuse Posted April 5, 2005 Author Posted April 5, 2005 (edited) Thanks for the welcome, guys. The reason why I was asking if I could make the changes myself is because I have a lot of files and folders (>20 folders and ~100 files, x 4!) that I want to soft-link. It's for a complicated OSCommerce install. Even with telnet access, creating that many links would be a nightmare, hence my enquiry about an editable text file! Fuse Posted April 6, 2005 Author Posted April 6, 2005 Is there an echo in here? Anyway, I figured out how to do what I need using CGIs. Quote
