A few days ago, a lady lost control of her SUV on the Morrison bridge and went over the edge into the Willamette river. She amazingly made it to the surface and was rescued right away.

Well today (April Fools Day) a radio station in Portland is going to talk about how the state of Oregon is now requiring women to get an endorsment, much like a motorcycle endorsement to drive their SUV's.

Here's the e-mail of what they are planning

***APRIL FOOLS DAY SHOW***

Barring unforeseen news events, we'll be at it again - I guess you could say we never learn a lesson, and we need your help. INSPIRED BY THE WOMAN WHO DROVE HER SUV OFF THE MORRISION BRIDGE LAST WEEKEND: On Friday, April 1st, we’re going to inform unsuspecting listeners that the powers that be in our government have introduced/passed a bill that would require women, AND WOMEN ONLY, to have a special DMV endorsement to drive SUV’s.

The idea is that women need extra training to safely drive SUV’s. The requirement is not unlike a motorcycle endorsement and is necessary because there are far too many accidents involving women and SUV’s.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU: A few phone calls telling us about your experience getting the endorsement. How it difficult it was parking, stopping, quick turns, etc. We need some people to talk about how difficult it was. Husbands can say how much better they feel that their wives are getting the endorsement. Women can be outraged. Mostly, we need you to listen closely so as to back up other stories and add to their credibility.

We don’t foresee anyone getting hurt this year but we’re bracing for more than a few complaints. We hope you’ll play along.

Should be great fun this afternoon. The station is 1190 KEX for anyone in this market

Let us know of any other fun today.
