Maura Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Hi guys! This is my first post to your help forums. It's both a testament to your good service and an indictment of how little we've done with our organization's Web plans when I say that we haven't needed any help since we first set up hosting with you nearly a year ago! But we're finally developing some more tools and features, including building out our organization's email lists. One of the features that was most attractive about TCH was that we could create and host unlimited email lists for our organization through your Mailman feature. We're in the process of setting up one of our really big organizational email lists and I came here to the forums to browse for tips for doing this, when I read in another thread (that I can't reply to) that there are limits to the number of emails on a list that we can send at once on a shared server plan. Could you let us know what those limits are? One of our lists has just over 500 members, but we were hoping to actually upload a much larger distribution list this weekend and send out an email to those addresses in the next couple of days. What limits must we keep in consderation as we do this? I've searched for more information on Mailman in these forums and I apologize if I have missed this answer if it is posted elsewhere. Thanks for your help (in advance)! All the best, Maura DemocracyForVirginia.com Quote
TCH-Andy Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Hi Maura, Welcome to the forums With mailing list of 500 - you will need to use a mailing script that can spread the load - rather than sending all at once. I will PM you with the limits, but would suggest something like Dada mail as a mailing program, rather than the mailman. Quote
