JTey Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 When you have GD thumbnailing images to 30kb on the fly (the 'reference' images being 200kb jpegs), when viewers load these dynamic thumbnails on the site, is it the resulting filesize of the thumbnail (30kb) that goes against the bandwith consumption -- or do they actually still account for 200kb per thumbnail? flashram Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 I would think that unless they click on the thumbnail then only the thumbnail sizes would count towards your bandwidth for the total of them per page that you have. So if you have say 10 thumbnails and they are 30kb each then 300kb in total would be used for your bandwidth. Does that cover what you mean. Quote
borfast Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 JTey, only the 30KB would count, because the resized image is the only data being sent to the visitors' web browsers. Quote
