ChicoLance Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 I've been trying several setups to be able to read my email both at home and work. I like the control I've got by having my email at TCH, instead of forwarding to Yahoo or GMail. However, I can't IMAP through the work firewall or access any ports besides 80, so for remote access, I've got SquirrelMail. (Somehow accessing IMAP through port 80 would be wonderfull, BTW). So the question: once I put addresses in the SquirrelMail address book, I have no idea where they're stored. I've tryed FTPing into my account to get and access the file (the SquirrelMail interface stinks for the addressbook), but I can't find it. Is it somewhere where I can edit it with a text editor? Thanks. --Lance TCH user for a couple years now, but first forum post. Quote

TCH-Don Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Look above your public_html folder in the folder .sqmaildata look for name@domain.ext.abook its a text file with the format nick|firstname|lastname|email|additionalinfo be sure your ftp program is set to show hidden files or use filemanager to view/edit. TCH-Don Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Ok just download my Squirrelmail address book And added several names in a text editor. It worked just fine. if you skip a field be sure to add all 4 | seperators. Quote
TCH-Rick Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 If you access SquirrelMail using /webmail after your domain then the addressbook is in the .sqmaildata. If you are accessing it using /sqmail (to go through port 80) the data directory where your addressbook is stored is not accessible. There are two installations of Squirrelmail and the addressbooks are separate. Quote
