FXChrissy311 Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 Hi. I had several more questions about the reseller account features. #1 - shopping cart software (http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/web-hosting-shoppingcarts.html) I was looking through the list of features for the reseller account and saw that shopping cart software was available. My question is whether this software only provides the shopping cart... or whether it also allows for credit card transactions to take place. The URL above wasn't very clear on that. #2 - Is there a way to limit each domain root folder to a specific amount of web space usage and bandwidth usage? I would like to setup an FTP account for each of the multiple domains I would like to host, but put a limit on the above so that other users would be able to upload their own files, but not be able to max out the account. Bandwidth is included with FTP uploads/downloads correct? #3 - Just a general question... since multiple domains can be hosted on a reseller account, are things like web space usage, bandwidth usage, usage stats, mailing lists, etc. all separate for each domain (like mini accounts within the whole reseller account)? Or is everything jumbled together with no clear lines of separation? Thanks in advance for your help! Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 Hi, I dont know the answer to number 1 since I dont use those things myself. Howver... 2) No, not as far as I know. You can specify how much space and bandwidth a specifica domain within your reseller account can use but not as for a specific ftp within that domain. 3) Lets say you have the simple resellers plan 1000 Mb. No matter if you have one domain or 10 using 100 Mb each, when the 1000 Mb are reached they are reached. Included are email, mailing lists, basically everything you store on your account are counted with in those megabytes. Same for bandwidth too. However you may specify that domain A may use x megabytes, and domain B may use x megabytes out of those 1000 megabytes in this example. Quote

If I can set up 100mb for domain A and 300mb for domain B, then the FTP account set up for domain A will only be able to upload 100mb worth of stuff while domain B's FTP account can upload up to 300mb. Am I understanding this correctly? No way to control bandwidth usage though? Quote
TCH-Don Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 (edited) Yes you can set up domain accounts in the Web Host Manager (WHM) to restrict the space and bandwidth. You first create hosting packages with the space and bandwith for that package you can also create feature lists (what features the accounts will see) that you can select when you create a new account and select a package and a feature list. There are some flash movies that show this on the help site under reseller support, that may help to show this. Edited December 20, 2004 by TCH-Don Quote
FXChrissy311 Posted December 20, 2004 Author Posted December 20, 2004 Thanks TCH-Don! What about the first thing I asked about though? About the shopping cart issue? *reading through the help site now* Quote
TCH-Rob Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 The shopping carts do not come with payment processing. You wil need to get your own merchant account for that and the carts will integrate with Most accounts. The cart will integrate with those accounts. Quote
TCH-Don Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 In addition to the shopping carts installed in cpanel, you can install others that you find, by yourself. Several family members have installed their own like Zen Cart, and may be able able to offer advice. Quote
