polat Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 Hi, I have been trying many CMS's made with PHP/MySql. I am not familiar with pearl and want to try WebGUI. Can I use WebGUI CMS at my TCH website. Here is the website: http://www.plainblack.com/ Tnx Quote
LisaJill Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 Probably not. According to their FAQ: Can I use WebGUI on my $5.95 hoster?A: Probably not. WebGUI is designed to be an enterprise application. Therefore it is usually installed to be the only thing running on a server. Also, it is almost impossible to install WebGUI with only FTP access, which is all that is typically provided by discount hosting companies. I didn't download it and their installation instructions don't appear on the site. But if they, themselves, say that you can't - it's probably a good bet ythat you can't. =) Quote
woesap Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Polat, Isn't MAMBO an option for you? Personally I like it and that can be installed quite easily. Quote
LisaJill Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Be very careful with Mambo, that's been discussed on these forums before and it can quickly become very resource intensive. Quote
TCH-Don Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 it is said the Mambo eats servers! You may want to look at all your options. http://www.opensourcecms.com/ Quote
