How To Detect What Type Of Ram

Hey everyone!! I have an interesting question. Is there any app, jiggydoodle, thingymajiggy or doohicky that will tell me what type of RAM my computer has and can use? I tried opening the case and looking inside, but the text on the RAM is toooo small.

 

I need to know what type of RAM my computer takes because I need some for Christmas!!!
