Accounts Per Server?

I'm not sure if this is the most appropriate forum, but I'm not really sure where this would best fit. I wasn't sure if I should post here in Backend, since it deals with that sort of thing, or in pre-sales, since it might be good info for those looking at TCH as an option. If it needs to get moved, I apologize.

 

I'm curious, if it's public information, how many accounts are allocated per server? Is it dependant on the plans used? For example, more Basic accounts per server than Gold accounts? I'm mainly curious how many accounts share the processing power, to help in a discussion with a friend for what's available at TCH.

Hi,

The amount of accounts placed on a server is not something we make public knowledge. We do have a limit (far lower than other providers in our price range) Once that limit is reached no more accounts are added to that server and new servers are provisioned. I do weekly reports of ALL servers that include # of accounts, amount of bandwidth used, average server load and hard drive space used to ensure our servers run as good as they possibly can.

More important than number of accounts, which can be uninformative depending on how they are used, is the server load. The loads I've seen while I've been here have all been very low. They monitor it as well so if something does go haywire like a user's script, the staff will be all over it.
