RickB Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 Hi, I run WinXP Home edition and I am running up against a full hard drive. I know in my wonderful efficiency I've stored many exact duplicte document files in several different places (so I would never forget where they were). Now I would like to find all the exact duplicate files on my HD so I can pick out which ones to delete to save space. Does WinXP have a tool for that? Do I need a seperate application? Any good ones for free? Which ones do you recommend? Thanks, Rick Quote
Beck Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 You must try Dupe Checker Pro. I had the same problem. A lot of files, different filenames, but maybe some of them are dupes. Ooh my God, I thought, to sort them I will spend all my life :-) And not a lot of time ago my good friend adviced me this application: Dupe Checker Pro. I got fantastic result. This app can eluminate duplicates not only by filename, but by much more options: by filesize, file content (byte-by-byte), date and time and more and more... Then You can remove them or put to some folder. So, download it on: http://www.atory.com/Dupe_Checker_PRO/ and don't waste Your time... Quote
