Guest Joe Trainor Posted March 28, 2003 Posted March 28, 2003 I was wondering if TCH would support 3rd party E-Commerce carts such as Cardlt www.cardlt.com or VP-ASP http://www.vpasp.com/virtprog/default.htm ?? Thanks, Joe Quote
Lianna Posted March 28, 2003 Posted March 28, 2003 VP-ASP has the following system requirements: Runs on Windows 95/98/NT/W2K/XP (requires IIS or PWS) Runs on Unix with Sun ASP (Chillisoft) and MYSQL Not limited to specific web hosting companies Uses Microsoft Access database (supplied). Support for SQL Server built in. Support for MYSQL with Unix version. This version also support MYSQL under Windows. Not supported by our servers. The "www.cardlt.com " that you refer to won't resolve. Got a better address? Also, are you really asking if TCH tech support services will help you with these if there are problems or are you asking if the servers themselves can support the application? Tech Support Services doesn't support Third-Party applications. There may be users here on the forums that can assist you. Lianna Quote
Guest Joe Trainor Posted March 29, 2003 Posted March 29, 2003 Lianna, CartIT is http://www.cartit.com or try http://www.cartit.com/products/cartit/index.asp , my mistake. I was wondering if your servers support this product. Thank you. Joe Quote
Lianna Posted March 29, 2003 Posted March 29, 2003 Looks like that one will probably work. The three following are listed as required Perl Modules installed: LWP::UserAgent XML::DOM Crypt::SSLeay I don't have that info right off the top tonight. You are aware that there are two different shopping carts apps that are made available to you for FREE through the control panel (cPanel) here? Agora and Interchange. If you didn't know, you may want to consider those as cost effective alternatives. If you did know, I'll try to come up with the answer to the three modules above... Lianna Quote
Guest Joe Trainor Posted April 18, 2003 Posted April 18, 2003 Lianna, Did you find out about the three modules you were not sure of? From their site it looks like two are required for real time processing of credit cards and shipping charges, which I probably will not use since I am going to use paypal. As for XML, I have no idea what that is used for. I looked at the ones you offered but they seem to be above my capabilities and since I need to design a complex cart, CARTIT seems to fit the bill. Thanks, Joe Trainor NOTE: just to give you some background.. I am starting a commercial embroidery business that will require a buyer to select a shirt/jacket to be embroidered and then they need ot have the option to add text to either or both chest areas with or without a design on the front and to also add a design on the back with or without text. Each selection requires a different price and selecting a combination has to generate a third price that is lower than the individual prices combined. Quote
Lianna Posted April 22, 2003 Posted April 22, 2003 Sorry for the delay. You shouldn't have any probem using CartIT, but I will try to test it tonight to see for sure. I guess my question is that if you plan to use paypal only then why not use paypal's shopping cart service? Just a thought. Quote
Guest Joe Trainor Posted April 22, 2003 Posted April 22, 2003 Lianna, Thanks for the suggestion but PayPal will not allow complex shopping carts like CartIt does. I am creating my site and cart to handle embroidered apparel and there are a number of fields that when selected add to the cost of the jacket or shirt the person orders. As an example, a shirt is priced one price for sizes S-XL and for each size over XL the price increases by $3 per size, so a 2XL would be the base price + $3, 3XL is base + $6. In addition adding a persons name is additional and if they want a design, thats additional. And each design is a different price, depending on the stitch count. So you cans see how complex this could get. Quote
