oompahloompah Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 What form of authentication does TCH mail servers accept for POP/IMAP? APOP, RPA etc? I tried looking for it in the FAQs but it's not there. Quote
oompahloompah Posted October 4, 2004 Author Posted October 4, 2004 this authentication is referring to when email and password is being sent to the mail server... it says something about the various standards i could choose and i'm not sure which one to pick... there's plaintext, then there's md5 and apop challenge/response (rfc 1939), also md5 and cram-hmac challenge/response (rfc 2095), and lastly token md5 and cram-hmac challenge/response (rfc 2095). I rather not be choosing plaintext if possible, which options are supported by TCH mail servers? Quote
oompahloompah Posted October 9, 2004 Author Posted October 9, 2004 Would anybody happen to know what authentication scheme TCH uses for its mail servers? The FAQs doesn't give me much to go by unfortunately. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 Normal settings are plain text, what I use. You can change your port to send securely if you wish. Quote
oompahloompah Posted October 10, 2004 Author Posted October 10, 2004 Plain text? Thanks Rob. Yeah I'm using TLS for encryption as well. Quote
