TCH-Bruce Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 I upload larger files than that with FTP. What FTP client are you using? Quote
TCH-Don Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 I have uploaded 60 - 70 meg files, took a while, but it worked using CoreFTP lite. It may by the ISP has a limit but you should not have a problem. Try another FTP program with auto reconnect. Quote
Purgpow Posted September 24, 2004 Author Posted September 24, 2004 No my Friend said that the FTP account that i made for him on my sight would not let him upload any files bigger than 5 megs. the way i understood him is that the FTP acount on my site was limiting his upload. is there a setting on the FTP accounts that limit file transfer size? jandafields Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 I am pretty sure that you can not put a limit on the upload filesize through ftp, unless the disk space quota is reached of course. Can you post the exact error message here? Quote
Purgpow Posted September 25, 2004 Author Posted September 25, 2004 He said that he would start the upload and GO do some other stuff and would come back to check on it and the upload was interupted a 5.4 megs. so he tried it again and it happpened again at 5.4 megs. I myself gave it a try and i had no problem with my FTP program. So it might be his Software ... I dont know. Thanks for the replys Quote
TCH-Don Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Have him try CoreFTP lite, its free and seems to be very fast. But if he is on a dial-up it might be a win modem problem I went to an external modem and my disconnect or interupt troubles went away. Quote
