TCH-Thomas Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 My isp are installing systems from following companies to try to stop virus and spam... McAfee (Antivirus) Brightmail & Edgegx (Spam) Does anyone know if these companies are good at what they are doing? I know Mcafee a little but not much. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 Theres not much to say about McAffe but heres is some information on the others. Brightmail was recently acquired by Symantec (makers of Norton AV). Symantec Brightmail Anti-Spam™ Version 6.0 is a high performance software solution that blocks spam at the Internet gateway. Edge Gx is owned by Openwave.Edge Gx monitors abusive messaging behaviors -- excessive volume from a single sender, forged IP addresses -- and keeps the violators off the system without having to check each message.
