freddy Posted March 23, 2003 Posted March 23, 2003 Hi, does anyone know if and how you can change the layout of the html chat function? Right now it's just plain white while my site has a mostly dark color... I've tried the phpMyChat as well, but when I change some options, like show the admin button it get all kinds of php errors... there a different thread about that already somewhere else I really want a chat function but I would like to have it in my own style... Lianna Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 Does the Java Chat look a little better to you? Example here. If so, the in cPanel, just below all the html that is supplied is the link for the Java Chat. Lianna Quote
freddy Posted March 24, 2003 Author Posted March 24, 2003 Hi lianna, thanks for your reply. I've seen both the HTML and the Java chat functions already. Both work fine but I wanted to do is change their layout (if possible) The HTML version for example is white while my site has a dark background (#404040). I noticed the admin functions in the javachat have been disabled while this Javachat is rather configurable. But if this can't be undone I suppose I can always install the javachat in my own directory? Do you offer support on these things as well? Thanx, Freddy p.s. http://www.tpff.com if your interested Quote
Lianna Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 Freddy, We don't offer support for HTML/language coding issues or third-party scripts/apps. This forum is full of generous and well experienced users though and you should feel free to solicit help from here. (Of course understand if you don't get the responses you're looking for.) I have never played with the chat scripts provided here through cpanel except to install them just earlier this morning. I had read your post and wondered if the darker look of the Java chat would fit better with your site. I do not know if the chat pages are then configurable from their current installation directories....don't even know where that is without having to go look. My next advice to you is to check out some of the free scripts and apps that you can get from online at places like javascriptkit.com. At one time, I had searched for an easily installable chat client for a customer of mine and found several that worked fairly well. If you would like to have a lot of functionality with little headache, you may even consider using a hosted chat. Folks like Bravenet.com and ParaChat are a couple that I found off the top of a Google search. Lianna Quote
