borfast Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 (edited) Here's an interesting article about MS's marketing schemes. For me, the funny part is that I have been thinking about what this guy describes, for some time. The feeling I get from Microsoft everytime I hear them talk about their new version of Windows (and some other products too) is that thy're trying to make everyone look at their future products and forget about what already exists today. Another good example of the company's non-examplary way of doing business :\ http://www.newsforge.com/article.pl?sid=04/09/04/0157204 Edited September 8, 2004 by TCH-Raul Quote

DarqFlare Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 Actually, it's common practice to get the public hyped up about the upcoming monster product. Most companies, when they've established their current product well enough, will hype the bejebus out of their upcoming one in an effort to get a leg-up on competition and build upon the successes of their current product. Why buy today's technology when you can wait a bit and buy tomorrow's technology? Quote
