Greetings all!

I just set up another domain with TCH. I'm trying to set up the email on my computer. I use Outlook 2000. I followed the directions on TCH's site, and although they seemed to be for the 2002 version, most of the information was the same. However, I'm having problems. After putting in the information and testing it, I've found that I can RECIEVE emails, but not SEND emails. I even have the box checked for "My server requires authentication". I have no idea what else to do, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Matt Brent

What do you have for your outgoing mail in the "server information" section of the Accounts set-up? Here's how I set mine up:

Incoming Mail (POP3): mail.****

Outgoing Mail (SMTP): smtp.west.cox.net

I believe you can also set your outgoing mail to: smtp.******, but if I remember correctly I had problems with that when I first set mine up. By using my ISP (cox.net) as my outgoing mail SMTP, I can still send emails if my domain is down for a while (of course that never happens with TCH!). In any case, make sure your outgoing mail is set to smtp dot something as opposed to mail dot something.

Hope this helps...

Your ISP may be blocking port 25 to send email through you own domain. You can try changing the smtp port for your domain email account to 26 and see if that solves the problem.

If it doesn't then Randy's suggestion of using your ISP's outgoing mail server will have to be used.

Thanks to both of you! I actually use Cox as my ISP, but luckily changing the port to 26 did the trick. Of course, if that ever fails, I'll try using cox as the smtp server.

Thanks again!
