  1. For the layman, what do you mean by "resource intensive"? -Matt
  2. Around October of 2006 I discovered that I could use Fantastico to install Moodle to my website. Moodle is a distance learning tool, and as a high school teacher, I was looking forward to using it. I've been trying to learn it, though I haven't had much of a chance to design anything in it. However, that's beside the point. I wanted to install another instance of moodle on my website, but when I went to use Fantastico again, it is not listed. Is Moodle not supported anymore? Thank you, Matt Brent www.mattbrent.net
  3. Hello All! I'm working on my 5th site that's hosted by TCH. For this one I'm attempting to install PlansCalendar. I've followed the directions to a T, but I'm still getting the 500 Error. The site I'm working on is www.capitaldistrictkeyclub.org/calendar/plans.cgi I wasn't sure if there was something on TCH's end that I needed to know about. Also, if you go to the calendar directory, all the files are displayed. How can I fix this? Thanks, Matt Brent
  4. Today I received the following email. ------------ Dear user ts@mattbrent.net, We have detected that your account has been used to send a large amount of spam during the recent week. We suspect that your computer had been infected by a recent virus and now contains a hidden proxy server. Please follow our instruction in order to keep your computer safe. Sincerely yours, The mattbrent.net team. ------------- Now I don't recall ever setting this up to send messages like this. Does TCH automatically do it? The interesting thing is that there was an attachment euhwg.zip. Norton Antivirus did not recognize it as a virus when I scanned it, but I haven't opened it because I'm still suspicious. Do you think it's a virus? Thanks, Matt
  5. I believe I had it set to check every five minutes. Of course when I posted this, I went to check email and it was working just fine. I don't know what the problem is. However, if anyone is able to tell me if it's a server problem or my problem, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Matt
  6. Morning All! Lately I've been having problems checking email through my domain. I have it set up to download into Outlook, and occasionally it will give me errors and says it is unable to download. "Unable to connect to the server. (Account: 'mail.kilncreekkiwanis.org', POP3 server: 'mail.kilncreekkiwanis.org', Error number: 0x800ccc0e)" Is this an error with my server that happens from time to time, or is this a problem with my computer and internet connection? My website is up and fine, and I can check the mail through webmail, just not with outlook. Thanks, Matt
  7. CompUSA isn't the only store to do this. I've been to Office Max on several occassions to dvd recordables only to find them out of stock. This, mind you, is at the opening of the doors on Sunday morning, the day their ad is printed. I haven't had any problems with CompUSA, but in my experience Office Max does this every week. It's very annoying, and complaining does nothing. They do not offer rain checks either.
  8. Thanks Lisa! That's wonderful! I'll have to get on that. Matt
  9. Greetings All! Back in May I set up another account with TCH to host the website for an organization I was in at my university. I graduated, but had intended to return as a graduate student, and continue being a part of this organization. However, because I am no longer a member, they have someone else maintaining their website on freewebs. (I suggested otherwise!) Anyway, they asked me to take down the old site. I prepaid for the site for a year, and I want to continue using the space. Is it possible to assign a new domain to it? It's currently www.cnucirclek.org but I'd like to change it to www.me.com or something like that. Can I do that, and if so, how? Thanks a bunch! Matt Brent
  10. Thanks to both of you! I actually use Cox as my ISP, but luckily changing the port to 26 did the trick. Of course, if that ever fails, I'll try using cox as the smtp server. Thanks again! Matt
  11. Greetings all! I just set up another domain with TCH. I'm trying to set up the email on my computer. I use Outlook 2000. I followed the directions on TCH's site, and although they seemed to be for the 2002 version, most of the information was the same. However, I'm having problems. After putting in the information and testing it, I've found that I can RECIEVE emails, but not SEND emails. I even have the box checked for "My server requires authentication". I have no idea what else to do, so any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Matt Brent
  12. Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, I don't think having everyone who uses my site's webmail change their registries is very feasible. I'll just have to resort to the old way. Thanks though! I DO appreciate your help. Matt
  13. Greetings all! I recently came across the javascript webmail interface (http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/id35.htm) and placed it on my website. However, it isn't functioning. I thought it was my coding, but when I tried the example, that didn't work either. Is there something incorrect with the coding that is listed on the TCH site? Thanks, Matt
  14. Thank you!!! I added a user, but didn't know I had to put that user with the database! The funny thing is though, when I installed coppermine to another site I do, I never had to do that. The databases even look different in both sites when I view them with cpanel. Regardless though, they both work now, which is great :-) Thanks again! Matt
  15. I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong. I installed this for another site I do, and I didn't have any problems. Here are screenshots of cpanel and the coppermine installation. Perhaps there's something there I'm missing. This is the installation screen. This is cpanel. Again, I truly appreciate your help. If there's anything else that you might need, please let me know. Matt
