I would just like to know, what is the correct term used when setting up a subdomain to direct individuals to specific website when typed into the browser window?

I'm not exactly sure I understand the question but is a URL the "term" you are looking for?

 

www.****** is the default URL for your site.

 

subdomain.****** would be the URL or the text typed into the web browser to display the web pages placed in your subdomain.

I mean would you say I'm "pointing" my subdomain to my website, or would you say I'm "parking" it?

 

Please define both these terms.

I'd say you're either pointing or redirecting. Parking is generally used for top-level domains.
