Possible To Use Server As Gameserver?

Hi,

I didn't really know where to post this, so feel free to move it to the appropriate section.

 

 

Ok here's the deal:

 

My and a friend were talking about gameservers, and how he wanted to put one up.

Then he said: "can't you use your website as a server (run the serverclient from there)?"

ME: "No I cant run any programs of such."

HIM: "what does it take then?"

ME: "I think it may work on a dedicated server, not sure though, I'd have to check"

 

So now I'm asking you nice TCH people, am I right, or is it possible?

(from either my shared or a dedicated server)?

(It doesn't involve installing a complete game, just a client of some 100's kb)

You cant run a game server on a shared server, that would require a dedicated server
