savage3e Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 I've done this before. Created databases and users in cPanel. Never a problem. However, I have not done this since the snazzy new cPanel showed up, but I figured it should work the same since it appears only the initial interface has changed. So I login to cPanel, select MySQL Databases, only to find that none of my previously made users or databases show up. "Okay, whatever" I think to myself, "I'm making a new database anyway". So I enter the new database name in the Db: field, press the Add Db button, and I get a screen telling me the database has been successfully created. I go back to the main screen and add a user. That seems to work as well. However, on the primary MySQL Account Maintenance page, neither the newly created database or user show up. "Odd" I say aloud. "Perhaps I'll try phpMyAdmin." Now phpMyAdmin sees my two in-use databases that cPanel seemed to miss, so I'm feeling pretty good about being here. I attempt to create the new database in the default Create New Database field only to be taken to a page that tells me the following (noting that names have been changed to protect the innocent): >#1044 - Access denied for user: '???????@localhost' to database '???????_nuke' Trying to log out of phpMyAdmin after failing miserably to create the database gives me Wrong username/password. Access denied. So what am I doing wrong? I'm thinking either something has changed that I've overlooked, or I've lost my mind. Or perhaps both. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Quote
LisaJill Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 If the msql screen isn't showing those database there mayb e a permissions problem somewhere. I'd suggest you submit a ticket (top of the page) to have it investigated. =) Quote
savage3e Posted July 23, 2004 Author Posted July 23, 2004 Thanks Lisa. I'll give that a shot. UPDATE: From the Tech Support Guys: There was a problem with mysql to connect as root on the server which was giving the issues. And that fixed it. In about an hour. Not a bad turn around. Rock Sign Quote
