quinbus Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 I'm moving over from a (failing) host which is also running Cpanel 8. Can I just make a backup of the existing site and then restore on the TCH site as a quick way of setting up the new website? I'm hoping to save some steps regarding redirects, autoresponders and e-mail accounts in addition to web pages and associated image files. Thanks in advance. Q! Quote
LisaJill Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 We're running 9.5 here but it may work, one of the more cpanel conversant guys might be able to say for sure. But if your host has cpanel, it is worth submitting a ticket to ask if they can just move your site over. This isn't always possible but in some cases it's possible for us to initiate a connection and transfer the site - depends on what config your old site has allowed for. =) Quote
TCH-Don Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 In your own cpanel > backup you will see a link to download a home directory Here in your new cpanel > backup there is a upload a home directory. This is your site minus databases, e-mail filters and alias. You also have links to download your databases and e-mail filters and alias in cpanel > backup, which you can upload here in the same way. For each download there is a corresponding upload. However a suport ticket asking for a cpanel transfer may be quicker for a large site, if they can. Quote
