Alan Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 Hi, Ok, a client has found a script that he 'Just has to have' and upon downloading and reading the readme I found some stuff which I was inclined to ask about before I installed the script. GTChat Forum has the board Servers and Providers where users can exchange their expirience. In general you should know that chats always use a lot of resources and therefore not every server allows them. If you cannot find a clear statement in the Terms of Usage, you should always contact the provider and ask. Approximately 2 MB memory for every user (as long you do not overload the server) So does this all sound like it would run smoothly on a semi-dedicated server? http://www.gtchat.de/main_en.html Thanks much, Alan Quote
borfast Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 Alan, I don't think a chat script that takes 2 MB of RAM per user is going to be nice on a shared server... But perhaps someone else with more experience can confirm this. Quote
