Hi, 've got a question about using IPB

Even after setting the forums to allow members upload access, many of them still can't see it. So, I went and manually applied a permission mask that allowed full uploading access to those who wanted it, but they still don't see the file box @ the bottom like they should! I even applied the same to another non-admin account, and I see nothing.

Am I missing an extra step? I see the filebox just fine, but not my validated members.

You need to be sure that your upload folder has file permissions set to 777 for everyone to be able to upload. This is done through file manager or an FTP client.

I did. Still didn't work.

Then I went to the members edit section and edited the file size of the member's mask (I didn't know I had to fill that in!). Now everything works. Thanks! :o

I take it you have set the forum permission to allow uploads. You also have to set the group permissions that you are allowing to upload a file size limit.

This is from the quick help of the Max Upload field.

If you wish to allow this group to attach files (upload) when posting, you will have to ensure you have completed the following:

    * You have entered a reasonable numerical figure in the groups 'Max upload file size' field.

    * You have edited the forum permissions for this group and checked the 'Upload' checkbox.

This allows you to control in which forums this group can upload to.
