Hi:

We're in the process of moving our web site, www.fairhousing.com, to CrystalTech hosting. It's a fairly large site running on Cold Fusion, so we need a Windows-based host to support it. It's now hosted in-house.

CrystalTech is a good host, but its e-mail services are nothing to write home about, specifically the SmarterMail mailing list functions. I would MUCH rather use TCH and Mailman, which is available to TCH customers through cpanel. (I use TCH for a couple of non-work-related web sites and like it a lot.) Rock Sign

I'm wondering whether some creative DNS setup would allow this to happen. I don't think routing mail and http requests to the right places would be a problem if DNS is set up correctly, but I think web-based configuration of e-mail and mailing lists through cpanel would be a problem if www is pointing to CrystalTech. (In fact, I had an account at TCH for fairhousing.com briefly and couldn't really figure out how to make it work.)

Any ideas?

Nothing against TCH...but I wouldn't do it. I don't know whether or not it can be done, but after the MANY recent problems I've had with a site that's hosted with TCH, but using a local mailserver...I wouldn't do it. In fact, I'll probably never host site and mail seperately again if I can keep from it.

<_<

My problems had nothing to do with TCH. Just weird behaviors do to the MX entries.
