George Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 MAYBE, JUST MAYBE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME!? Well, I found a problem which I don;t know how to solve it. Using the Control Panel I can open personal accounts to different persons (in my case, the board of directors). But each one whant the possibility to change is password authomously (whitout telling me). Do someone now how can this be done? I understand that there are in the market hsotings that offer POP-3 AND IMAP and your OWN Web Based E-Mail Server... so people after you open their accounts whit a first password, can enter to a site where they can change their passwords as they want... Please can some one help me solve this? THIS IS INDEED VERY URGENT TO US! Quote
Nicholas Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 Yes it's really easy to do that... 1. Have them login to webmail using thier 'starter' password. 2. there will be an option to change thier password...here's the link... http://www.******:2095/webmailpasswd.cgi (be sure to put your domain where it says "yourdomain") Quote
KevinW Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 Good question. Good answer. I'll have to add that to the TCH Help site tonight! -kw Quote
Guest Guest Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 dear friends thank you for your answers... but it seem that maybe I do not explain maiself OK.: With the idea that you Nicholas give me, I can change the main password... but there is no option for each one of them to change his/her own password. since there is no information just now I can give you all the details so you can try by yourself. Maybe you find a solution for my problem: Using the Cpanel I have created 15 accounts for each one of the Directors so they can use the Outlook to exchange e-mails. (the webmail option is reserved for when they travel away from their own site so they can access their mail accounts as if they where using an hotmail.com or a yahoo.com, etc.). So according to your recomendations I enter hto ttp://209.51.142.186:2082/webmailpassswd.cgie then I get just this: Changing password for grupo-a New Password: New Password (again): but where are all the other accounts I open for them? there is no option so mr gahashaviah@grupo-avva.com or mr. osamanez@grupoavva.com made changes to their own passwords...being this two accounts already created by me (as "administrator"). Any further help please? Quote
KevinW Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 OK, it's been added. Take a look at Let users change their email password -kw Quote

So nothing it's happen... maybe I'm doing something wrong... but I don't know what... please a little further help??? Quote
KevinW Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 The instructions did not instruct you to enter a port number ( :2082) It said to enter something like: www.yoursite.com/webmail In your case, then, you should enter: http://209.51.142.186/webmail HTH -kw Quote
George Posted March 12, 2003 Author Posted March 12, 2003 Sorry, I was sure I made something wrong... but still doesn't work at least for me... I wish I can send you the picture I get... say "enter network password..." It doesn't enter the page shown in the help page you direct me to... Please? a further help? Quote
KevinW Posted March 13, 2003 Posted March 13, 2003 When I enter the URL as I posted, I get the attached screen. If you are not, then you have something on your compuyter or network interfering - possibly a firewall? -kw Quote
George Posted March 13, 2003 Author Posted March 13, 2003 Well, dear Kweilbacher and Nicholas YES!!! I GET TO IT!!! Now I understand: the user name is not (as with other systems around there) just the name (say "george") but the whole e-mail address (say george@grupo-avva.com) ... My suggestion to avoid misunderstandings like mine is to include a note regarding this "little thing" for someone obvious, for others not so obvious... A thanksful George Quote
