Deverill Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 Rank Eval: You have a great start. You rank fairly high under some terms but can improve a little. For instance, Hiking is not something you will ever be able to compete for. Instead of adding single words try to focus on keyword phrases people will enter into the search engines when they are looking for you. For instance, if I was a family new to the area I'd look for "Boy Scout Columbus GA" because I don't really care too much about the other Troops around the country just yet. Make sure you add that to the keywords and maybe even put it in the title somehow that fits your image of the site. More links back to your site wouldn't hurt but you have a pretty good start already. Google reports about 60 and Yahoo about 20 which gives you good credibility among the search engines. Your site is aimed mostly toward the families and scouts in your troop so you don't need as much visibility as a used car salesman might. You have a great site for the members though... be very proud of that. In all, a great job. Add a few more carefully targeted phrases throughout your page that people will be searching on and it will be awesome. Quote
