phatfunkjazz Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 Hello all, Just curious, has anyone here ever used CyberKit, a multifunctional networking program for Windows OS? Apparently, development stopped three years ago. I still have the last version of it on my computer. I learned a lot about the internet by using CyberKit. It includes the following functions: Finger, MailChecker, NetInfo, NSLookUp, Ping, PortScanner, QoD, Scheduler, Time, TraceRoute, WhoIs, WindowList. Do any of you fine folks know of more recent Windows applications that provide most or all of these functions in a single interface? Shareware or Freeware, doesn't matter. Thank you peace, Stefan Quote
annie Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 Not all of those, but some, and some others: http://www.samspade.org/ Does nslookup, finger, ping, trace, whois and Dig! Quote
annie Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 That's weird! http://www.pestpatrol.com/PestInfo/c/cyberkit_2_4.asp It's considered a pest? Quote
phatfunkjazz Posted June 5, 2004 Author Posted June 5, 2004 annie, Thanks for the tip on Sam Spade. I've bookmarked the web site. Yeah, interesting that CyberKit is considered a pest according to PestPatrol. Hmm, I've never had any apparent problems using the program. Sigh, time for a little more research into this issue. annie Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 Let me know what you find. Might be only version 2.4? Quote
phatfunkjazz Posted June 5, 2004 Author Posted June 5, 2004 Well, I am using version 3.0 beta 1 (06/09/2001). I'm going to read through all the "evidence" at PestPatrol, then follow up on related links before making any decision to uninstall (if I do). Good work finding that link. Stefan Quote
