chosenson Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 I've been reading your forum finding many answers to my questions. My wife and I are about to purchase a hosting account. I am still a little foggy about subdomains. If I understand this right, we will have our main domain; www.oursite.com. This will host my site. My wife wants to have a site also which could be a subdomain; hersite.oursite.com or www.oursite.com/hersite. Now the part that leaves me feeling confused is together we offer various services. So, the maiin site would be used for promotion of service one and the subdomain to promote service two. Together these services we have are offered as a single venture from us but yet they are different from each other. (I hope I am clear; think Sony. They offer much more than electronics) Thanks much. TCH-Rob Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 She can not have hersite.com point to hersite.oursite.com. Otherwise for the purpose you are looking at it should be ok. My example is that I have a cutlery site called mysite.com. I want to sell coolers (ice chests) as well so I make a subdomain called coolers.mysite.com. Though not exactly related to each other this is within the AUP. Your subdomains may not be used to make financial gain from others by selling web space on any of the shared accounts. Quote
