Change Default Page Name

I would like the root page of my site to be default.php (or any other name with a .php extension if that is easier). How can I accomplish such a feat? Thank you.

if you name it index.php

that will work.

Just add the following in your .htaccess file:

 

DirectoryIndex default.php
