Blackcat Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 I noticed that the cgi scripts on Cpanel offers nice counters, but does not include a separate counter for online users. Did not find anything useful here in forums. Does anyone know the procedure to obtain it from our sql, or some other applications like Movable Type, for instance? Something really really easy, pleaseeee Thank you Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 (edited) Here is one i use. Click on Download > Other, in menu. Its a stand alone cgi script. You can see it in action on my site. Edited May 16, 2004 by Jikrantz Quote
annie Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 Not really sure what you're asking. I got several counters (for different pages on the site) by appending a number for each page after my user name in the code for the main counter on TCH. Quote
Blackcat Posted May 16, 2004 Author Posted May 16, 2004 Great!!! It works and looks very good. But l have to make you a kind of confession... l looked at your homepage html to double check l was putting the right code! Thank you so much again Quote
Blackcat Posted May 16, 2004 Author Posted May 16, 2004 Bad news... It does not show the actual users online. Me and two friends of mine are connected to my site from three different locations and it shows only one user online.... Quote
LisaJill Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 When I did this, I used Kudos Users Online - it is php and can show currently online, and online in the last x amount of time (I did 24 hours). Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 Blackcat, who do you refer to in Bad news... It does not show the actual users online. Me and two friends of mine are connected to my site from three different locations and it shows only one user online.... ? Quote
annie Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 Lisa, I couldn't find that particular script up for grabs on that page? Quote
LisaJill Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 you have to scroll in the ugly little tiny frame in the right. If you can't find it click scripts, then php/mysql and scroll down in there. I checked before I linked, it's definitely still there. I can link to the zip if you need it? Quote
annie Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 Found it. The webmaster has something to learn about site usability.... Or maybe it's safety in obscurity? Quote

I fixed it, it was a permission mistake... Mad!!! Quote
