dieguy Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 I am trying to restore a Database but can not figure out how. I tried doing it in the Backup section of cpanel but it just sits on the same page and nothing happens. I hope someone has an answer. Can u also make a database and move all the info from one to another? Thanks for any help. Quote
TCH-Don Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 If you made the backup in cpanels backup page by clicking on the name of the database and downloading it, then on the same page just use the browse window to the right to find the database on your compter and upload. But If your back up was made with phpMyAdmin, Go to phpMyAdmin in your web broswer and select the database you wish to restore over, by clicking on the name. If you have multiple databases, you will need to select the name from the drop menu. In the right-hand frame, you will see a row of links. Click You will see a large input box for queries and below that you will see a smaller box labeled Browse. Click the [browse] button, navigate to and select the backup file on your home computer and click the [Go]. This may also be the way to copy the info from one db to another? Quote
dieguy Posted May 16, 2004 Author Posted May 16, 2004 I tried to create a phpNuke site for testing. It took over the xoops site I had made. I continued with the phpNuke but was just curious if I could use my old backup of xoops to open it in a different DB. Quote
