I made my site with Microsoft Front Page 2002. This is my first web site so I am in the early learning stages. I have it up and running now (with a lot of help from support) but I have forms for customers to receive more information from me. I need help getting the forms to work. I would like for the information to go to my email. Can somebody tell me how to do this in very basic talk? Like I say, I am very new to web site building. My web address is www.fhiohio.com Thank you Jeff

He's most likely trying to use the built in controls in Frontpage.

They will only work if they're installed on your site. Not only that, but they're not always compatible across versions of Frontpage.

All in all... maybe you should use cgi or php instead?

Hi Jeff,

I'm new to the web site building too. I'm using Frontpage 2003. I was able to add a guestbook to mine with the help of a great book "how to do everything with Frontpage 2003". Laurel has suggested a Sams book for Frontpage 2002 that is really good I hope to get this week. I have both versions of Frontpage.

I've not done a form to go to email yet, did you try the help area on Frontpage, its helped me alot. I will look to see what I can find in my book.

So far so good with me and Front Page.

Hi. I think I'm in the right place for this question.

I designed a webform using MS Publisher 2K. The instructions were clear and ever so easy. I followed them to the letter and the form looks great, except for the part where it doesn't work.

It's supposed to email the data to my client's webmail addy, but when you click Submit, it tries to access a non-existant page called WEBBOT-SELF that it seems to think should exist in the cgi-bin. Then I get a 404 Page Cannot Be Displayed. Publisher says nothing about this WEBBOT-SELF (naturally) and its only suggestion if your form doesn't work is to make sure your server/host supports FrontPage extensions (which I know my ISP and TCH do).

Anyone have an idea what this WEBBOT-SELF is all about and what I can do to get this thing working? I found several threads concerning it on google, but most of the answers were obviously vague guesses.

TCH supports the Front Page extensions but you have to make sure they are installed.

Go into cPanel and click on the Front Page Extensions under Site Management. If they are installed, uninstall them and then install them again. If they are not installed, install them.

Hope that helps.
