I have a client who would like to transfer multiple domains to TCH, he currently has a number of different service providers providing various services and would like to condense everything down to one provider - TCH. I have reviewed your domain name transfer process and I understand that but I have a question about transferring his email. This client currently has his email accounts provided through the service that he purchases his telephone services and internet connection from. He wants to discontinue that service and just use the email accounts that I will set up with his TCH hosting packages. Is there anything special that I should know when he discontinues his current service -- are there any records somewhere that need to be changed?? Does his current provider need any information from me or TCH to redirect his messages? What are the concerns if any that I should be aware of? It's confusing to me when a 3rd party and not the web host handles the email, I just want to be sure that I have the information everyone needs when he discontinues all the email services with his current provider. Thanks, tried both options but they did not work - my original index page loads. I have a number of redirects already set up, those redirect pages to another web site but I don't think that would effect this - I did try adding the different options above to the top, then to the bottom of the list but with the same result. Thanks for the suggestion!

Again I thank you for your time but I'm just going to just throw my hands in the air at this point - What was very very very simple to do 2 months ago (I did something very similar to this on another site) is now a full blown pain. Its just a wordpress blog whatever the lastest version is 2.8 I think installed via fantastico, and the errors were about cookies being on or off I don't remember exactly. I've had the site for a number of years and there are quite a few files in the public-html directory. My plan was to temporarily retire the site and just use the blog until I could figure out what to do with the site. It may just be best if I download everything off the server and put the blog in the root directory. Thanks again Steve!

Thanks so much for working with me on this - I added the above to the file, changing everything to the real info of course, and got the Redirect Loop error message...

Thanks, but darn, I just realized something while reading your reply, where I said I was redirectling to is incorrect, the blog that I want to redirect to is in a subdirectory - I want to redirect to www.mysite.com/myblog. So would it be correct to say: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www\.)?mywebsite\.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^.*$ hxxp://www.mysite.com/myblog/ [R=301,L] I don't understand why they made this change to the cpanel - it was so easy to do before!

I have the same issue and I prefer not to put my blog in the root directory so I need to modify the .htaccess file - I looked at the comments in the link provided above and they say to to this : example: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} index.html RewriteRule ^.*$ "http\:\/\/www\.TrueChange\.net\/main\/" [R=301,L] However my RewriteCond is a bit different: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^mywebsite.com$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.mywebsite.com$ so is the RewriteRule the same as what they list above: RewriteRule ^.*$ "http\:\/\/www\.myblog\.com\/main\/" [R=301,L] or should it be different since I have the with or without www thing... I'm not a tech so I'm not sure what it should and should not say. thanks.

2.0.4 vs. version 2.1 to me means they are lagging behind a few months. I did start at the page you reference but got stuck pretty much immediately. I do not have a config.php file it seems, there is one in the includes file but does nothing when I point the browser at it, there is no config.php file in the top level of my current dotproject directory on the server. Then I get to this and get stumped: 3.3 Step One - Unpack the Files Be aware that you are unpacking your dotProject files into a directory that already contains dotProject (and is, presumably totally backed up). File permissions may need to be resolved. Remember that your existing config.php file must be left in your dotProject directory. Well...what do they mean here? I downloaded the upgrade files to my hard drive, when they say unpack do they mean, unpack it on my hard drive then upload everything up on to my web server in a new directory, or upload it to the same directory and what config.php file are they talking about (there is no config.php file in the top level of the directory where the old version resides)? Why say unpack when they mean upload the already unpacked files or am I missing the point?

Sorry if you see this twice... I'm using dotproject.net v 2.0.4 and it does not work well with PHP5, I need to upgrade to the latest version with is 2.1. The problem is, I don't understand the instuctions they give to complete the upgrade - I'm not a programmer - that's the beauty of Fantastico! But the ugly side of Fantastico is that they seem to be far behind when it comes to offering the lastest version. So if I don't know what I'm doing, how do I go about upgrading? If I submit a help ticket will they install the lastest version for me - just like Fantastico?

Ok I'm back, the issue has returned. Changing to port 26 did not work, I got the same error message. Again this is intermittent. Sorry to be such a dummy but....My outgoing mail is set up as mail.myurl.... Are you saying I should change it to my personal ISP address? My personal ISP address has a password?? BTW I've been waiting close to 20 hours for a responce to my help ticket - they responded once with a question, I got back to them asap, that was yesturday early afternoon...do you think they will ever respond again? -

Yes, totally forgot about the help ticket area on your site...but I remembered eventually. I'm using the Mail program on my Mac. My authentication is set up for sent messages. -
I've been having problems for about a month now sending email - I have not changed anything related to my email account so that's not the problem. Some days I can not send a message for anywhere from 15 mins to one hour, I work remotely so email is essential. I sent in a help ticket this morning and got back a reply (vai email) that I had to send my cpanel username and password. I've never sent my password in -- why is this all of the sudden required? Since I was not able to reply to the email I received - since my email was not working correctly at the time - I went to your support area to look for an update on my support ticket and respond there - BUT the ticket key I was given did not work I got an error message. I requested the ticket key be resent to me but I have not received the email yet (its been about 15 mins or maybe even 30 by now.) So with that avenue locked out, I submitted a new ticket, I messed up what I was going to say, so I wanted to correct the message - I went back to the help ticket area, entered the ticket key I was given moments ago and again I received and error message for incorrect ticket key. I used the back arrows in the browser to get the key again and the key number had changed! I'm not sure what is going on, I can't seem to trust your help ticket system and I really don't want to submit yet a THIRD ticket. My main problem right now is why I can't seem to send email, I've been hosting here for a long time and this has never been a problem before.
