Happy Birthday Rob! I hope you have a great day.

First thing you should think about is what/who is it for? Does it need a "members/registered users only" area? Does it going to have a forum, photo galleries etc? If you need a members area, ie people need to sign in to see certain content, joomla might be an option. Does it going to have a forum, gallery etc? Joomla may not be for you since including the extensions/add ons can be a bit tricky. I have used joomla in the past (and still do on one site) and while it´s excellent to work with in it´s basic version, adding extesions can be tricky since some can be poorly written (ie doesn´t work at all), some may not work with the template used and so on. I tried building a wordpress site for someone needing a members area, all worked well (regarding adding forums, galleries etc) except for the security, ie I couldn´t find an extension/plugin that hid posts and pages well for unauthorized people. So what does your site and it´s visitors need?

I haven´t been able to verify this but I believe that IPB is now on version 3.x only and Bruce suggests that using version 2.x may be the problem. With verify I mean that some forums, cms´s etc may have two versions (for example joomla 1.0.x and 1.5.x) but I haven´t been able to find out if this is the case with IPB.

The easiest would probably be to ask the Techs to clean it for you. And as a side note, the files should be placed in the public_html directory and not in www.

Welcome to the forum, nmarketers. I have edited your first post to deactivate the links since 1) nmarketers.com isn´t hosted by TCH 2 Since there seems to security related problems with the site, lets not have people accidently enter it.

I see the error that Bruce mentions now. A whois also tells me that the nameservers are set to different hosts: I don´t know if that will be a problem, but you might want remove the other host so you eliminate a potential problem.

Sorry, I see a prefectly visible site there and no errors. Has this domain been moved from somewhere else to TCH?

It sounds to me that either the database name, username or password is incorrect in the wp-config.php file. Also, make sure a database has been created (and user added to the db) in cpanel with the same db name, username and password as entered in the above file.

According to this post you will need to submit a ticket for things that require a cname change which this seems to need.
