Unable to see whether new emails have arrived
K_M replied to K_M's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
I use webmail/squirrelmail. -
Unable to see whether new emails have arrived, in any new folder I create, other than Inbox and other 3 standard folders. When I receive one new email in Inbox, I see (1) besides(on right side) the INBOX folder's name (which is present on left side of screen). When I get two new emails, I see (2). I create a new folder XYZ(not a sub folder). I set filter to directly send specific emails this folder, rather than Inbox. But when I receive ONE new email in this folder XYZ, I do not see the (1) (that is the number of new recent unread emails). But I can see the (number) of new emails coming in Inbox! I just checked my XYZ folder and suddenly it has 5 new emails which I received last week. And I never read those because I never knew that new emails have arrived in this XYZ folder. What should I do, so that I can see the number of new unread emails in a specific folder, as soon as I log in(rather than checking each folder daily)?

Ok, I checked several member sites here at TCH(surfing this forum) and all sites load at same speed as my site. So, may be the problem isn't with TCH. May be it's with my location. Yes, I will get a reseller account with TCH. Here is my website. Can anyone test it's speed and post your feedback please! Also post your location. http://www.fentermine.info Rock Sign

I want to purchase a reseller account with TCH. But I am from India and my site with TCH loads slowly here in India. So, I am asking you other guys from US(and other places worldwide), whether your sites hosted with TCH are fast loading or not. I am happy as there is no downtime, but speed matters too, right? Where are the TCH servers located? Rackshack? Theplanet? Nac? I want to know about it. PS: Give your honest opinion. And feed back, if possible. Thanks to all those who take part in the poll.

Whenever I send email via squirrelmail, the page simply hangs. My browser shows that it is send, but nothing is sent. I am forced to check the 'sent' folder whether the message was delivered or not. Today I checked for 15 times, and still the email was not delivered. I clicked 'send button' 15 times but not even once was the email sent. Please help. Server 23 Also, sqmail is very very slow. The only day it was faster was the day it was introduced. After that day, it has sucked a lot of my blood. Are you guys putting more than enough clients on my email server, that my site is using? How many clients have you put on the email server I am using? I have no problem accessing Yahoo, Hotmail, or any other site. None of these other sites hang like squirrelmail. And what in the hell have you done to your site > TCH? It simply keeps keeps on refreshing in my browser. Even now, while I am writing, it is continuously refreshing and troubling me. Why are you using these refreshing scripts?

Hey, it's 4:30PM here in my country. Good afternoon. What's the time in your place right now? Have a look at the time I have posted this message, for reference. The Sun will set after exactly two hours. Sunset lol!

Oh thanks Wilexa. I checked my inbox.sent folder and it has the emails sent by me. I wanted something to inform me that an email has been sent (as Yahoo shows "email sent to email@domain.com"). That is because most of the email services used to work like this. I clicked compose and wrote a long long email. So the email service used to disconnect me from it's email server thinking that I went offline. (It works automatically). Then when I clicked "send" button, the email server used to direct me to my email-homepage. My email was never delivered and I thought that it was successfully delivered. Yahoo eliminates such a thing as it shows a "reply sent" page after "send" button is clicked. Now I tried Squirrelmail and it did not give me any "reply sent" message. So I was worried whether my emails are properly sent or not. But thanks to Wilexa, I will check my Inbox.sent folder to verify whether the email is properly sent or not. If there is a plugin which can show such a confirmation message then please install on all servers. Everyone would appreciate it. Hope the technical service expert works on it, if possible.

When I send email using Squirrel mail, I do not get the message "Email sent" as we get when we send email from Yahoo. Is there any way to get this message? I have to send several important business emails and so need feedback that the email has been sent. Or can I trust Squirrel mail, that each time I send the email, it will be delivered correctly to the receiver (except when the recepient server is down), which I don't think is the right option. Please help. It's IMPORTANT to me.

Thanks both of you. I will try to send the helpdesk ticket if I have a problem. But it asks for some number. What is it?

What is a Help Desk Ticket? How can it be sent? Why is it used? Is it free to send it? Have heard a lot about it without knowing what it actually is.

Shifted the topic to other forum.

Please start an affiliate program. I will send in lots of clients.

What is an add-on domain? Is it like a new TCH account? Or it just points to the same default domain? What is the cost for adding a new add-on domain to my account? If I purchase an add-on domain, then will it have it's own separate features as my current account or will it share my present account? Sharing bandwidth and diskspace is ok. But will other features like separate email accounts for new add-on domain, stats, etc. be present? Or will an add-on domain conflict with my present account? One more thing. Squirrelmail ROCKS. TCH ROCKS. I am about to buy another TCH account. Rock Sign Rock Sign

I created a folder within the 'www' directory, just to test the features of my control panel. Now I am unable to delete it. How can I delete this folder? I can't see a delete option when I enter this folder. I created a sub-domain, but deleted it successfully.

Thanks for your help. I will give him the present username and password and change it when the work is over.

I want to provide my webmaster with COMPLETE access to my hosting account. Can this be done? Now the question is, 1] Should I setup an Anonymous FTP account for him, so that he can have full access of my account? 2] Should I give him my real username & password? 3] Can the present password given to me, with my account be changed in future? He wants complete access of the hosting account and he will setup my full website and forum. For such an access, what should I do? I do not want to give him a partial access, to some specific folder or specific directory or specific section. I need complete access. Someone please be kind enough to answer my questions. Thanks in advance!!

I have bought a domain and the control panel of domain shows: Name server1: ns1.totalchoicehosting.com Name server2: ns2.totalchoicehosting.com Name server3: dns1.hosthat.com Name server4: dns2.hosthat.com I have changed the first two name servers to point to TCH. What should I do will the name server3 and name server 4? Should I delete those two entries, previously present? Or should I add some other name server of TCH? How many nameservers are required for one domain, so that my website becomes accessible?
