  1. I currently have 1 account with TCH with domain www.nameiDONTwant.com I also have an account with xyz host with domain www.nameiDOwant.com I like TCH better, how do I transfer my old domain name to TCH, replacing current domain name (hosted at TCH) thanks
  2. Thanks, I didn't realize TCH didn't allow add-on domains. It would be for my use only, I would not plan on sub-leasing it. The other host I use allows 3 I think for an extra $2.50 per
  3. Is there any disadvantages to using an add-on domain versus a seperate domain in terms of search engine optimization? Thanks
  4. I second David's comment and highly recommend you NOT install anything less than 3.15. There's no cost to download and install the latest version (one install/3 blogs, no tech support). A link to download the free version is here <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So here I am working on my blog and notice at the bottom the version I'm using is 2.661! I look at my account and I downloaded the wrong one, I race back to the forums and find your posts. I am sorry for the confusion The tutorial was perfect Thanks again
  5. Thanks for the code, I guess I'll use a different set of instructions as this tutorial is not up-to-date ...
  6. Oh I've looked and relooked, I've copied contents in Notetab and searched. I've attached the file mt.txt
  7. Thanks. I'm continuing on. The next thing I find is under Step 3 :Edit MT Config. The tutorial says : Uncomment the ObjectDriver, Database, and DBUser settings (remove the '#' at the beginning of each line): ObjectDriver DBI::mysql Database <database-name> DBUser <database-username> Unfortunately I cannot find any of these lines in my mt.cfg file ???
  8. Hi, I'm just starting the installation of MT and am using the TCH guide. After uncompressing the files it says to rename the folder to "mt/". Should I really put the "/" in there? thanks
  9. Not even close ... the 4 letters are together but they do not form a word.
  10. Oh well, I guess I'll have to make do .. along with the wonderful Username I got
  11. I just got new account today and went into cPanel to change password but wasn't allowed as "the new password is based on a dictionary word" I've been thumbing through my Websters and have yet to come up with an 8-letter word with 4 numbers in it! Is there another way to get my password changed to what I want?
  12. I started to sign-up, but my the form is asking for a domain name - either new or existing. I just want an account with the auto generated account name so I can start the content and "domain-name" it later. Maybe not practical?
  13. Thanks for the welcoming, A question on establishing new account, right now I don't have a domain name picked out but I do want to start on the content. Is it possible to establish an account, work on the content without having an actual domain name? thanks
  14. Hi, I've been reading the forums for tips on setting up with tch. I will most likely sign-up for a new account because it appears you support Movable Type and my current host does not. I will probably also transfer my existing domain as I use it for other stuff and email. I've read here it is somewhat advantageous to have your registrar seperate from your host. How can I tell if my current host is also my registrar? Thank You (I'll probably have a couple follow-up ???)
