  1. Or is installing squirrelmail allowed? I can download the RPM file, but does tch allow a rpm install? I am not sure what all is "allowed" with the shared hosting accounts. I love horde, but my company blocks ports above 1024, so no webmail for me. Will Squirrelmail and hordmail be able to share the same mailboxes? Smail has a quick and dirty faq to get it installed with using the rpm file. thanks
  2. >>I am trying to ping the IP of my assigned server and it is dying after 66.9.46.21. Does TCH block ping to the servers? problem fixed. fat fingered IP address. using 64, rather than 66 in 1st octets!!!

Customer service was working on this since 12pm today and I still can't log a help desk ticket. error I get is : >>>> TotalChoice Hosting: Error Verification Error - Record Missing Password Or Key >>> Is there a alternative way to get support? My pop3 and smtp servers are not working with either Eudora 5.11 or outlook express using the "auto-configure" method that cpanel sends. Webmail works great, but want to get the client side of this working. === update=== pop3 problem fixed, fat finger of the ip address. but still can't reach help desk ======= thanks
  4. It appears that totalchoice isnt' doing reverse DNS lookups. is this normal. my other hosting company did it. when I try and run a reverse dns on my server IP i get: >>> Asking i.root-servers.net for 127.87.246.64.in-addr.arpa PTR record: i.root-servers.net says to go to GINSENG.ARIN.NET. (zone: 64.in-addr.arpa.) Asking GINSENG.ARIN.NET. for 127.87.246.64.in-addr.arpa PTR record: ginseng.arin.net says to go to NS2.INTELLISPACE.NET. (zone: 87.246.64.in-addr.arpa.) Asking NS2.INTELLISPACE.NET. for 127.87.246.64.in-addr.arpa PTR record: Timed out. Trying again. Asking NS2.INTELLISPACE.NET. for 127.87.246.64.in-addr.arpa PTR record: Got unknown response (rc=0 an=0 type= err=). Answer: Unknown. >>>> I know that it won't be associated with my domain name, but shouldn't it be associated with totalchoice's domain name(s)? I also ran ns9 and ns10 through www.dnsreport.com and they had several red and yellow areas. But today when I try and run the same test I get the below: ERROR: The parent servers say that the domain ns9.totalchoicehosting.com does not have any NS records (although they may have some other information on that zone). I can not do a DNS report on a hostname (such as mail.example.com) or a domain name that does not have its own zone.
