  1. Thanks Thomas. I saw that subject earlier but the subject "Ddos At Gnax Dc" does not intuitively indicate it will answer why there is an outage. I have no idea what Gnax Dc means Thanks for pointing it out.
  2. I cant find this mentioned anywhere else in the forums. Is TCH experiencing problems today? My site keeps going down, including many other TCH servers according to TCH Status. About half the servers will periodically have their HTTP and MySQL services go down. I would report this via the helpdesk, but dont want to overwelm them if many others are reporting the same thing.
  3. What are you talking about? This kind of attitude I am getting alittle thin on patience with. I am a customer complaining about an issue with my account. I am simply asking for advice on what to do. A few month ago I posted about an issue with the server my site resides on that was causing all the server's sites to become unavialable. The problem lasted for weeks. That post was simply asking if the problem were to persist, could my site be moved to a different server. An admin replied telling me to essentially stop complaining (something about "would I ask for a new car if I kept having problems with it" ???). A very unhelpful, uncaring response. Same with this response. I have reached out to the community twice now, and both times have been told to go away. I realize there may be nothing that can be done about my problem by the admins here, but they can at least act like they give hoot. Steve dvdspot.com
  4. Thanks for the tip. I use my yahoo address.
  5. Sorry to put this here, but not sure where it should go. My site http://www.dvdspot.com has been suspended for some unknown reason. I have been receiving Payment Due emails for the last few weeks, and I have been replying wanting to know what the problem is. This morning I woke to find it had been suspended!! For months my credit card has been automatically billed. Why has TCH stopped billing it? It is a valid non-expired credit card, I use it every day. This morning I manually made a payment that was approved (using the same credit card btw), but my account is still suspended. This is a high profile website with 1000 members, and im very embarrased for it to be redirecting my site to an account susspended page. What can I do???? I have already sent in an urgent helpdesk ticket and tried the chat thing, but getting no responses. Help!
  6. Yep, in the end I decided to scrap the session IDs for my site to. So far I have only had one person refuse to come back over it. The dangers far outway to benefits. One thing I do need to work on is a warning msg telling the user there login failed because cookies were turned off.
  7. This isnt so much a scripting question as a potential mail problem. But I wasnt sure where to post it. I use the PHP mail command to send out status updates. Today I had someone's mail server bounce a msg back to me with this: 554 Address "support@dvdspot.com" assumed to be invalid - Impossible to verify support@dvdspot.com is a real email address (not a forwarder). This is the first time I have seen this. I am just concerned something may not be setup right, and cause problems in the future. 8. Thanks for the tips. The backup worked great. Only problem I have now is finding a good Windows compression utility that doesnt crash Mad!!! when opening a gz file over 150MB (and containing 40K+ file). ZipGenius refuses to open it.
  9. I run an online DVD tracking database and have over 40,000 DVD cover images that I need to be able to download from my TCH hosting server to my computer. Unfortunately when I try to FTP them I run into a limit of 2000 files at a time. This happens wether I try to list the files, or even do a mget. Any ideas?
  10. Thanks for the quick reply Bruce (and the welcome ) I have already changed my nameservers to NS1.TOTALCHOICEHOSTING.COM NS2.TOTALCHOICEHOSTING.COM so I am good there. My question is how do I view/change the records on the TCH nameservers (i.e A, CNAME, MX, etc)? Some other hosting providers I have dealt with in the past give you a web interface to manage your records. - Steve
  11. How would I view/change my own DNS records? Or can it be done? I issued a trouble ticket on this question, and was told to goto http://www.secureserver.net/default.asp?pr...simple&se=&isc= to make changes. But they dont allow you to make DNS record changes, only nameserver changes. I called their support number and they said that they are only my Registrar. TCH hosts my DNS. So I cant manage my records through them. Thanks for any help. Steve
