Bulletin Board Down After Upgrade
iconocoustica replied to iconocoustica's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Thanks, Bruce. I checked out that thread. Excuse my ignorance but where do I find the install/update_to_latest.php file to upload? Thanks, Franklin -
Hello TCH family, I upgraded my bulletin board (phpBB) today after getting the upgrade or else e-mail. I backed up using the Full Backup feature on cpanel before doing so. After the upgrade I am getting an error message when I go to the board. Can someone help me figure out what is wrong and how to get the BB from my back-up? The URL to my bulletin board page is http://www.franklinmoore.com/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=1. If that link doesn't work you can just go to http://www.franklinmoore.com and click on "Message Board". I appreciate any help you can give me. Franklin

Hi, My e-mail account has been infected with a virus. I get 30-40 e-mails a day saying an e-mail has been returned that I never sent. Also, it is supposedly being sent by an e-mail address that I deleted months ago. Can anyone suggest how I can check for the virus and disinfect it from my e-mail account? Thanks. Hi, I noticed that my stats have not updated since Friday the 3rd. Before this, they have always updated every day. Does anyone know what's up? Thanks, Franklin

Thanks, Lisa. I'm not familiar with Firefox but I knew that the banners look jumbled up in Netscape. They look fine with Internet Explorer, though. I think I will ask if anyone has any suggestion to fix the problem without making it look bad in IE over in the Graphics section. Thanks again for adding me to the family. Franklin

Adding Links To Squirrel Mail
iconocoustica replied to iconocoustica's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Oh, so it just adds the link automatically. Come to think of it, I think Outlook Express does it like that, too. I will try that. Thanks for the help, Don. Franklin -
Hi Gang, Does anyone know to add a clickable URL link to an e-mail composed in Squirrel mail? There is no http:// button like there is in this bulletin board. Thanks. Franklin

Thanks to everyone that helped with this problem. I went back to the source code and edited the text in Notepad, then saved and reloaded it. This solved the problem. It appears that something weird happened with the HTML editor when I made the earlier changes. Thanks again for your input. Franklin

Thanks for looking, bellringr. I can't see it in the source code, either, only on the web page. They started appearing after I edited in the HTML editor and then saved. There are 2 of these symbols in the 1st paragraph. 5th line, and one in the 2nd paragraph, 6th line. Do you see them or am I going crazy? I deleted and re-typed the words around the symbols but they were still on the web page. Any help would be appreciated. Franklin

Hello. I have a question about the HTML editor that is available in the file manager portion of cpanel. I used it to make some changes to one of my pages and noticed that it inserted a strange character (^A) between several sentences. I tried to edit them out, but they reappeared when I viewed my page. Does anyone know what these are and how to delete them? My page with this problem is located at Bio page. Thank you very much for your help. Franklin

Bill, I moved from Livonia, MI 3 years ago to NC, and became a big fan of the Wings while there. I moved here just in time to see the Wings kill the Carolina Hurricanes in the Stanley. (I pulled for the Wings). Here is hoping they can go all the way this year, though Tampa Bay is looking pretty scary right now. Franklin

Hi everyone, I started servicewith TCH over the weekend and am very pleased with how easy it was to set-up. We signed up and were online in one day! When we had a self-inflicted problem in some html coding, we posted a question on the message board and thanks to people's help were able to fix the problem within an hour. The website loads lightning quick on every computer I have tried it on. TCH truly does rock! Franklin www.franklinmoore.com

Thanks for your help!! I found the problem - I inadvertently capitalized the .jpg file extension in the image file, but had it in lower case in the html file. Oops.... I corrected the problem and the image displayed. Thanks again to everyone.
