Raul, thanx for your reply. Sorry for being vague. What Im thinking now is to set up a separate database and file system independant of phpws and then pull that into a phpws block. So I want to search the www for such a script that will give me a db install and tmeplate system that will allow users to see whats on at each theater, and see where each movie is showing. What would I search for? I have done searches on "movie" etc but just get movie dbs like imdb.com. Any help would be appreciated. Wayne

Raul, thanx for the reply. Vague it was. Being my lack of knowledge of php. Here's an explanation of where I'm at now...I'm running phpwebsite 09320 and have pulled a branch off the main website (a mirror website that can be changed but still interacts with the db). I created a void.tpl in boxstyles directory (made it an empty file) so make a box not show. I selected void.tpl for a boxstyle in Cp Layout Admin. The box concerned doesnt show as required but I get the following error. "Warning: fread(): Length parameter must be greater than 0. in /home/tototon/public_html/phpwebsite/lib/pear/HTML/Template/IT.php on line 948" Is there something I need to do to avoid this error? Is there another way to not show the content of a box other than a blank tpl file? Wayne PS, cool new look the the board here. I like it. Well done TCH poeple.

Hi ya scripting wizzards, Im wanting to set up a searchable (location, name) movie webpage for my mobile website using data from my phpwebsite databases. Can anyone give me some direction about writing such html/php/tpl files that I may need to do so? I think I would need an index.php, search.tpl and results.tpl or the like to do so. Any hints would be fantastic. Wayne

Gentlemen, the answer to the problem is that config.php should show... $table_prefix = "";" and not $table_prefix = "mod_";" Wayne

Gidday, I now have 3 urls pointing to my site as I changed my site name and bought another similar url just in case people made a mistake etc. Would I need to submit a ticket to get my 3 domain awstats "joined"? It seems to be necesary for people accessing thru the old name as opposed to the new. Wayne

And exploring I did. Was reading thru Japanese BBS threads and got the following...I added to .htaccess RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} ^DoCoMo [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} ^J-PHONE [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} ^KDDI [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} ^UP.Browser [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} ^DDIPOCKET [NC] RewriteRule ^.*$ http://www.fukuokaguide.com/mobile/index.html [L] and then created a .htaccess in /Mobile to set a RewriteEngine off command. And work it did. Hope this is helpful to someone one day. Wayne

Gidday all, I run a PC and a mobile website and want to detect the visitors host and then send to an appropriate folder. Eg, mobile hosts like docomo.ne.jp would go to /mobile/ and abc.com would go to /phpwebsite/ folder. Any info on what to do, where to go etc would be appreciated. Cheers, Wayne Rock Sign

Mike, thanx for that. It was me who asked the same before. I looked around but couldnt find the thread. Thanx, Rock Sign

Thanx Rick, I see what ou mean about the time to propogate...I thought I was looking at a TCH error page but infact its a cPanel.net error page. Also, why dont my redirect commands work now? Well, one to my to-to-to.net/mobile/ still does. Gues I gotta wait for propagation. Maybe a beer is in store till then. Nyahahaha, Wayne Rock Sign

Thanx guys for the info. Seems something has gone wrong. I purchased the www.fukuokaguides.com url and sent in a ticket and got my account name changed to that with the www.to-to-to.net put on top. The reply I got was "I have changed the domain name for your primary hosting account with us from To: fukuokaguides.com to to-to-to.net.And I have parked to-to-to.net on fukuokaguides.com. Please verify that its fine from your end." BUT...I get... http://www.to-to-to.net/ gives www folder contents (files etc). http://www.to-to-to.net/index.php/ gives what looks like a 404. http://www.to-to-to.net/phpwebsite/ gives website but an "old" frontpage I dont want to show. http://www.to-to-to.net/phpwebsite/index.php/ gives same. http://www.to-to-to.net/phpwebsite/index.p...ies&category=44 gives page I want to show. *Redirect 301s dont respond. http://www.fukuokaguides.com with or without phpwebsite/ or phpwebsite/index.php following gives a "no website configured at this address" error. I sent reopened the ticket but havent had a reponse yet...maybe theyre out to lunch. Do I need to change my config files to have www.fukuokaguides.com as my MAIN address? I can access my cPanel thru the to-to-to.net address ok. Regards, Wayne PS, if this is not the place to post please move accordingly.

Gidday all, as always... Rock Sign I want to change the name of my website etc and have a read thru but just want to clarify what I am thinking. I have an account to-to-to.net registered thru godaddy but want to get a new domain name thru TCH. Here is what I think I will do...is it correct? 1. Purchase new domain name thru TCH 2. Send ticket to get account name changed for my current account to new name (currently tototon) 3. Do a redirect from old domain name to new one (this way both urls will point to new account) 4. Buy beer Just wondering where to put redirect from old url to new account...in htaccess? Wayne woooot

-
Thanx guys for the input. I have a config.php file with "$dbname = "tototon_phpws"; $table_prefix = "mod_";" in it. That just gives the prefix for the mod_ tables. Just cant figure out why it points to the mod_mod_ prefix tables but when I change the name of the file back to mod_ it doesnt chase those tables. Thanx again, Wayne
-
Gidday all, In my early days of installing PHPws and reinstalling and mucking around it turns out that my website is pulling tables from tables that are named things like mod_xxx and mod_mod_xxx. Im wanting to set all table names with the same mod_xxx as there seem to be some contention problems. I tried to just change the names of the mod_mod_xxx tables but when a call is done on the said tables (would now be named mod_xxx) I get an error saying mod_mod_xxx doesnt exist. Im wondering where in PHPws I would go to tell it to just call mod_xxx? Or is there something in my database that instructs on the table name? Hmmmm.... Wayne

Hi all, was looking thru my root and found in the _vti directories/folders there are htaccess files in each and subsequent deeper folders but they dont have any reference to a redirect301 I run. Is this a problem? Wayne

Thanx guys. As for my Japanese mobilefone website...would I have to go so far as running xhtml etc? I guess its recommended but... I currently have it written in pure outta my head html with and it shows up perfectly in my pc browser and on my mobilefone. I want to keep the html as light as possible due to the thruput of the mobile system. Your thoughts pls. Thanx, Wayne PS I see that Yahoo.com doesnt seem to run a DOC statement. Why?
-
Thanx Bruce and everyone. I was playing with Validator again today...and was looking at closing <a href> tags in xhtml. Is it correct to assume that a </a> is not needed? I removed a </a> and had 1 less error. If it isnt needed, which tags dont need closing? Wayne
-
All, thanx for the input. Im off to see what I can do. Great feedback from TCH people...as usual. This place rocks. Wayne Rock Sign
