Deactivation Notice For My Website!
Barbara replied to Barbara's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
From DotRegistrar's email to me: This domain was originally registered through a company called Feature Price, and this is the reason why it is currently placed in their account. This company went out of bussiness and was taken over by MammothData.com; it was for this reason that I directed you to them to have the domain reactivated. Of course there's another renewal option. This is, you open an account at DotRegistrar and transfer the domain there. This transfer will provide the domain with another registration year, thus renewing it. These are the instructions you'll have to follow to get your domain moved to your account and renewed: ) Open an account at DotRegistrar: Log into www.dotreg.com <http://www.dotreg.com>; and select the option "Open an Account!" 2) Make an initial purchase of 1 DRY (domain registration year = $15.99) 3) Create a profile for your domain; 4) Click over the profile you've just created; 5) Select the option "Initiate Transfer": Enter your domain name without the "www" and hit the button "Send" 6) Approve the transfer: By replying to the request email you will have received, replacing the word REQUIRED for the word APPROVED in the email's subject line. Your domain will get renewed as a result of the transfer and you will have 100% control over it as well. " Well now it begins to make sense.... this was all very reminiscent of last year's debacle with Feature Price. Should I trust this and do it? Barbara -

Ok I understand that now. The only problem is they aren't letting me renew. And they are telling me I have to contact an agent bc that is how ti was registered orignally (which isn't true.) Is this common practice? -

They are telling me I registered through an agent, which is NOT TRUe, and that the only way I can renew it is through this agent. Please help me, I don't think what they are doing is legal. -

Well what I really mean is what happens if they dont? I want to get it out of dotregistrar and move it to you guys, and technically I think I should be able to do that. However I feel like the name is frozen./ -

Ok, is there a way to change that without going through dotregistrar? They told me in the email I have thirty days to renew; but will they answer my emails and allow me to renew it? -

The other problem is this group is not letting me renew the name even though I am supposed to be the owner of the name. Is there a way I can go through someone else??? -

The problem is I thought that is what I had done originally. I remember asking about this when I started with this company. -

Please help!!! I didn't check my email in the last few days, and when I did today I see that I have a deactivation notice for my website http://www.pattonuncovered.com from dotregister.com as well as a notice from your company saying that I was billed $55 for this next year. However my website has been taken down!!! I don't understand what's going on, but please help me put the website back online as soon as possible because this is the only way I can conduct business. Thanks in advance.

How do I know what folder they should be in? Capatilization would cause the images not to show?!?

Hi, I used a program called NetObjects Fusion MX... I looked but I couldn't find options about that. However, all the text works on the website, just not the pictures. Is there anyway you would know if I had exceeded bandwidth?

Hi, I have a problem - I downloaded my website material but none of the pictures are showing up. (http://www.pattonuncovered.com) What is wrong? Please help! Thank you, Barbara

Hi, I already have a website (http://www.pattonuncovered.com), but I want to change servers. What steps do I take to go about that? (And will I change the DNS server information in the control panel for my website? What is the DNS info for Total Choice hosting?) Barbara

I was sent another email with working links but a different username and a password (the password is my website name?!?) The new email's password and username do not work, and neither does the old email's info. Please help!

I was sent an email with mostly deadlinks after my order was completed. The email contained bizarre instructions including: ========================================= FTP Instructions: ========================================= You can begin uploading your files at: http://www. or before domain name propagation 207.44.248.87 And: ========================================= Web Mail ========================================= If you would like to access your e-mail from your web browser you can go to web mail form where you will be able to login to any of the mail accounts on your domain. http://webmail/ The most worrying part was this: ========================================= Control Panel ========================================= To login to your control panel please go to the URL below, you can use the username/password above. http:///cpanel or before domain name propagation http://207.44.248.87/cpanel Obviously none of that works. The name I registered with you guys was www.pattonuncovered.net. Can you tell me what the address for CPanel is... and could you please send me another email with working addresses?
