I have set up a blog site (well nearly) using moveabletype, and as this sits in a folder called /mt/ I have to specify the path as

www.domain.co.uk/mt/

to be able to access it. I guess I can set-up a link so that I can use

www.blog.domain.co.uk

but once it has redirected it is back to

www.domain.co.uk/mt/

is there any way to hide the tru path and just show

www.blog.domain.co.uk

thanks in advance.

Why not have MT write the files to public_html so that the URL natively rests there? Make sure you don't have any indices there and then go to weblog config -> core setup and point everthing one directory up.

If you need more help with that, post what you have for the configurations in weblog config -> core setup, and I'll help out some more. =)

Alternatively you could create a subdomain called blog and get mt to publish into that (unless that's what lisa said) this would be much easier than redirecting it etc.

If u created blog as a subdomain then in ure mt setting just change the paths such that the siteurl would be blog.domain.co.uk and site path would be /home/user/public_html/blog its as simple as that :P

I think I get the idea, so I will have to go and play with it to see if I really get it.

I'll tell you how I get on.

thanks for now.
