OK.

I'll be perfectly honest. This question is for a site that is not currently hosted with TCH (but that will change!) However, the site offers similar capabilities and features, one of which is the lack of response to this question

Anyway, I need to maintain a number of email forwarders. Doing so using the cpanel interface is rather tedious. I assume that there is a simple text file somewhere that stores this information. Is it possible to access/maintain this file directly?

i think if you backup your site using cpanel and restore it when you sign up here might let you have all same forwarders you have on your current server/site.

The forwards can be downloaded from cpanels backup

under Aliases

You click to download and it is a compressed file

named aliases-domain.ext.gz

Then in your cpanel here

goto backup > Restore an Alias/Filter

browse to the file and upload all of your aliases.

inside the downloaded compressed file named aliases-domain.ext.gz

is a text file named domain.ext

the text file format is:

aliases@domain.ext: name@domainToForwardTo.ext

and then the catch all

such as

name@domain.ext: name@domain.ext

name@domain.ext: name@domain.ext

name@domain.ext: name@domain.ext

*: cpaneluser

So if you do not have cpanel to back up your aliases list

you can create the same format text file

and compress it as a .gz format

then upload it.

And it is faster than using cpanel for a big list.

Be sure to leave the catch all at the end in your list

*: cpaneluser

Hope this helps.
