Dreamweaver 4 Ftp Help

I am not new to dreamweaver. I manage a munber of sites on other hosts. I recently recommended that a client host his site here (with me as the web master). I have read all the instructions on connection using dreamweaver and even created my own ftp account all to no avail. I'm still not able to connect (I have no problem connecting to my sites on other hosts).

Dreamweaver remote settings:

ACCESS: FTP

FTP Host: ftp.truecraftmasonry.com/

Host Directory: public_html/

Login: **********

Password: **********

Passive FTP: (both checked and unchecked)

Use firewall: (unchecked)

I am not a Dreamweaver user,

and I am sure you know as much about it as anyone,

but there is the help site for dreamweaver

and a tutorial by Tracy

 

maybe something there can help.

You need to remove the trailing slash

 

FTP Host: ftp.truecraftmasonry.com/

One more question. What is the difference between using "public_html/" and "www/" as the Host Directory?

They're linked, so won't matter which you use, to my knowledge. =)

the www is a shortcut to your public_html folder

but will work.
