Guest jingle_lady Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Hi All, I decided to fiddle with the Index Manager yesterday to further "protect" my directories. I changed the permissions of at least two directories - the scgi-bin directory and my MT blog directory to "No Indexes". This has caused my Moveable Type installation to stop functioning. I can't log into the blog, my comments don't work, etc. I set the settings back to "Default System Setting". No change. I chmod'd the directories to 777. No change. Can somebody help me? I would really really appreciate it! I have no clue where to start looking further. Thanks! Anna Quote
LisaJill Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 (edited) Try 755. =) After you do that, try accessing it - if it fails, go to cpanel and click 'error log' and report back here what the latest errors are and we can help further. =) Also, double check that the .cgi files are still 755 while you're in there. Guest jingle_lady Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Hi Lisa - Thanks! I continued fiddling and searching and the 755 permissions was the solution. Looking at the error log helped too. Whew. Everything works again. Thank you for your prompt response! Anna Quote
