twowheels Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 Help! I changed my main account password, and now I can't sign in anymore! Does it take time to propogate? Why doesn't the old password work anymore? The old password still works for FTP. I've tried the new password shortened to 8 characters, etc, but it still doesn't work. I also can't get into webmail.... though, I didn't try it before the above mentioned problem I'm using the IP address right now since the registrar hasn't propogated. Thanks! Quote
twowheels Posted February 23, 2003 Author Posted February 23, 2003 More details: Support page & FTP are still using the original assigned password POP3 is using the new password that I entered (so I know that I didn't mistype it twice) cpanel & webmail won't sign in at all. Thanks! Quote

KevinW Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 if your problem is with POP3 make sure your email account id is correct. For your "main" account name, your email account id is just your user id name. Don't include the '@******' to it. But, for any other email accounts you add to your web site, the email account name is the user name followed by @****** Thus, if you add 'john' to your web site, his email account name is john@****** Finally, make sure when you set p your email client that you enable the option "my outgoing server (SMT) requires authentication" -- at least this is what it is for Outlook or Outlook Express. Good luck! kw Quote
